Actiontec 1520/1524 Routed Config

Setup for a Routed Network

If you are using a Microsoft Windows PC, then you will need to follow the instructions for hardware setup which were included in the box with your Actiontec DSL router from Qwest.

Select "PPPoA" as the ISP Protocol.

For the User ID and Password, enter the DSL username and password which were given to you when you signed up for your ipHouse DSL account.

Select "Dynamic IP" as the IP Type.

After a save and restart of the router, you should be online with ipHouse.

After your computer has obtained an IP address via DHCP from the router, you will need to open a web browser and go to the URL: http://192.168.0.1/. This is where you will make the final configuration to the router to connect to ipHouse.

Click on "Setup/Configuration" and then on "Advanced Setup" (in the left column). Click on "Begin Advanced Setup". Click on the "Next" button to continue...

Select "Obtain an IP Address Through PPPoA". Click on the "Next" button to continue...

For the User ID and Password, enter the DSL username and password which were given to you when you signed up for your ipHouse DSL account.

Leave Static IP blank. Click on the "Next" button to continue...

Click on the "Next" button to continue through Wireless setup until you come to the "LAN IP Address" page.

Enter the Network Gateway address and Netmask (also given to you when you signed up for your ipHouse DSL account) as the Device IP Address and the Device LAN Netmask. Click on the "Next" button to continue...

A pop-up window should appear and instruct you to save and restart in order for the changes to take effect.

Click on the "OK" button and then on "Save and Restart".

After the router has finished restarting, go to the Network Gateway address for your router in your web browser.

Click on "Setup/Configuration" and then on "Advanced Setup". Click on "NAT" (in the left column). Turn NAT "Off" for your routed configuration.

Finally, click on "Save and Restart".

After the router has finished restarting, you should be online with ipHouse.

You will need to assign each computer on your local network an IP address from the range of usable IP addresses given to you and configure each computer to use that static IP address.
