IMPORTANT REMINDER - Authenticated SMTP requirement changes
From: Mike Horwath <drechsau@iphouse.net> Subject: ipHouse: IMPORTANT REMINDER - Authenticated SMTP requirement changes Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2005 01:52:12 -0600 (CST) As stated last November: As of January 31st, 2005, we will be requiring authentication for any email that is sent through smtp.iphouse.com. We have instructions for many email programs on our website in the support area: http://www.iphouse.com/support/email/ If you have already made changes to your email client for authenticated SMTP, you may disregard the rest of this message. What this means for you is that the way your email program sends mail is changing. Your email address does NOT change. The only thing that does change is how your email program communicates with our servers. As of January 31st, 2005 our servers will require Authenticated SMTP. Authenticated SMTP is a means of verifying who is using our servers to send email. By having our customers use Authenticated SMTP we can prevent SPAM from being sent out from our systems, thus somewhat stemming the tide of unwanted email across the Internet. Please send a test email message to authsmtptest@iphouse.com to see if your email program is already configured for Authenticated SMTP. Look for a response in your email telling you what to do next. If you know you're not configured for Authenticated SMTP, please follow the URL below to find out how to change your email program to use Authenticated SMTP. http://www.iphouse.com/support/email/ Support can be reached Monday thru Friday from 8:00am until 8:00pm, Saturdays from 11:00am until 4:00pm via phone at 612-337-6340, or via email at support@iphouse.net. -- Mike Horwath drechsau@iphouse.net ipHouse - Welcome home!
