MOE Scenarios
Single location MOE Connection
A "Point-to-Point" MOE connection is very much like a point-to-point T1, DS3 or higher service, except it is a true Ethernet connection. When connecting two locations via a T1 you are limited to 1.5Mbps of bandwidth. With today's data intensive applications a single T1 may not be an effective way to connect your office to the Internet. The T1 connection also requires a T1 capable router on both ends and each must be configured to enable your network to communicate correctly. Similar to a T1, a DS3 operates identically and although the bandwidth is greatly improved, the equipment and link costs are can be quite expensive.
Using the point-to-point scenario, your location is connected to our MOE network. We deliver an Ethernet cable to your location and you plug it into your existing Ethernet switch or router. That's it. You are now connected to the Internet via Ethernet.
Multiple location MOE Connections
Multiple locations can be connected using MOE. When connecting multiple locations there is not a "hub and spoke" scenario. Each location has a direct link to each location via our private MOE network. You can choose to have different link speeds at each location, offering a higher speed at a possible central server location and lesser speed links at remote locations.
Off-Site Network via MOE
Off-Site Networking is simply an extension of your current network. By colocating critical servers or off-site storage at our data center, you are ensuring an almost 100% uptime for your data. You may optionally choose to provide an Internet link from your servers so your data can be accessed easily via the Internet.
We deliver a MOE link to your colocated equipment at a speed you define and we can rate-limit your Internet backbone bandwidth to any speed you wish that is below the actual port speed. For example, you can purchase a 20Mbps MOE link and we can deliver Internet speeds from 5Mbps to 20Mbps.
MOE for IT Consultants
IT consultants need fast access to their customer's networks. In the past this has typically been accomplished via T1 or a form of DSL service, both of which are not very fast considering what you might need to accomplish. With an MOE connection at the IT NOC location, and a MOE connection at the customer site, you can work at speeds as if you were at your customer's location.
You can install a single MOE connection at your NOC and we can link you to every one of your customers via your own private VLAN. You will be able to connect to every one of your customers, yet they will not be able to see each other. You may alternately choose for certain customers to see other certain customers. We can also provide Internet access across this link to any or all of your customers.
Every customer is required to have an MOE connection. You may choose different speeds for each connection, giving yourself a high connection speed since you may need to connect to multiple sites.
Imagine offering you own off-site backup for your customers. Simply install a high-speed connection to our MOE network and provide backup using your own storage devices at your location. You may alternately use our colocation services to house your backup devices for added security and reliability. Your storage device at our Data Center will appear on your own network.
If you provide IT consulting work, you should contact us right away. MOE will give you the edge over your competition and allow you to offer the best service possible.
