Setup for a Static IP Address
Follow the instructions for hardware setup which were included with your Zoom DSL router.
After you have attached your Zoom DSL router to your computer, open a web browser and go to the URL: http://10.0.0.2/. This is where you will make the final configuration to the router to connect to ipHouse.
The router will prompt you for a username and password. If you have not set an admin username and password on this router before, the default is "admin" and "zoomadsl". (The default password for the Zoom X5v is "zoomvoip".)
Click on the "Basic Setup" icon. Enter "0" in the VPI field and "32" in the VCI field. Set the Encapsulation type to "PPPoA VC-Mux" and Bridge to "Disabled".
For the Username and Password, enter the DSL username and password which were given to you when you signed up for your ipHouse DSL account.
Set the Authentication method to "PAP".
Check the box next to "Automatic Reconnect". Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Click on the "Advanced Setup" icon, then on the "Admin Password" button (under Administration).
Choose a new password to access your router, and enter it into both fields. Make sure that you can remember this password, or keep a copy of it somewhere secure. Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Finally, click on the "Write Settings to Flash and Reboot" button. Click on the "Confirm" button on the next page.
After the router has finished restarting, you should be online with ipHouse.
You will need to configure your computer to obtain an IP address automatically, using DHCP. The Zoom router will act as a DHCP server, and assign your computer an IP address as needed.
If you plan on running a server on your computer which you want to be accessible to other computers on the Internet, then you will need to assign an unused static IP address within the 10.0.0.0/24 network to your computer instead, and add the appropriate Virtual Server entries to your router.
